This is the card I made for my card swap this month. I used my new cricut cartridge "Kate's ABC's," some old stash papers, and a dollar store stamp, so it was very cheap and easy to make! Just make sure you don't use a new cutting mat, it was so sticky that my detailed pieces were hard to get off without tearing. lol! In the end, I really like how it turned out.

Poppies!

Hi there,
First of all I have to say I LOVE Poppies!! Definitely one of my favorite flowers. Not sure why but this year they grew better than ever, the blooms are 9 1/2 inches!! Needless to say I was thrilled!
Anyway, over at Pages in time, Karen gave the DT a postcard challenge to do. We had to use at least one postcard and be creative, it could be a layout, card, mini album....anything. So I found this very cool paper with postcards all over it, found all my extra Graphic 45 postcards, along with some beautiful poppies found online......worked them together, and this was the result! Not too sure about it at first, but the more I look at it the more I like it!

I used DCWV's Green Tea paper pack, and although it doesn't show very well, the papers are all foiled. Awesome pack! The orange card is more of my typical flowers and fluff, I love pretties!! :)

I just loved these pics of my girls in their hats so I had to scrap them. For this layout I wanted it to have a springy feel to it so I used Prima's Watercolor collection papers, lots of flowers, and of course it wouldn't be spring without a butterfly! My wonderful husband surprised me a couple weeks ago with a new camera, which I LOVE, and a new photo editing program. So needless to say, I have been thinking alot about pictures and how obviously important they are to scrapbooking, whether it be a portrait or snapshot, they can change the feel of the entire layout. I love to play with the colors in a picture, change it to an extreme black and white, or even add some blur to it. That drives my husband crazy because he is an excellent photographer, and likes his pictures clean and clear....but I can't help it because it just looks awesome! Hopefully it won't take long to learn my new program and some new editing techniques.
Here are some layouts I've done in the past where a little editing made a big difference.

This is the card I made for our Card Swap group this month, the group got pink ones , but I made green and pink for my Etsy shop. I used embossed papers, punches for top and bottom circles, and a little stiffer cardstock for the handle. The center design (top and bottom) is heat embossed in silver, then cut out.
They were fun to make and super simple!

I made these santa tags for our December card swap. They are not what I had started out to make but I really like how they turned out, even though it was my first time stitching on anything. They were alot of fun to make.

I just have to talk about these awesome feather hair clips, I love them! They are so pretty and you can wear them with anything. Since I started selling them, my girls have been having a great time wearing theirs. They are hip and trendy, and look fabulous with any hairstyle - just clip and go!

Hello there! It has been a while since my last post, but I have some new things to share. In August I was lucky enough to get asked to be on a local TV show called 'Studio 5' to talk about my journals, it was pretty exciting, and as a result of the show I got an offer to do a Bridal Fair in October. I can't wait!

Well, it's pretty obvious that I love flowers and I use them on most everything, so I have to share my new esty shop with you. It's all floral hair accessories! Lovely, sassy, petite, and big & beautiful; there is something for everyone! The shop is called "The Dancing Daisy," I have been open for a month and a half, and doing pretty good. The hard thing now will be keeping my girls from taking them all! :)

Ready for Fall

Well... Fall is in the air, the yard work is winding down, and the kids are back in school. I love this time of year, the beautiful weather and the Fall colors are just fabulous! Not to mention there's more time to scrap! :)
Here are a couple of albums I did this week. I love these books! They are great shapes and colors, all I had to do is decorate them. Lots of fun, and they work up fast!

Here is a card that I made for a DT call. I was trying to go for romantic with the red and black paper, but it looks like a valentine! Ugh! I like the design though.

I did this layout with Bobunny papers, they look awesome with her hair!! The leaves were cut out of a matching sheet and outlined in black for more dimension, the butterflies are rub ons on cardstock then cut out.

I am always telling people about the fabulous things I have found online, at Etsy, or just out shopping; and after having a few people feature my items on their blogs, I decided to do a weekly feature here called 'Fabulous Finds'.

End of challenge

Well, the Scraptathlon challenge is over. It was alot of fun, and I met some great talented ladies while doing it. At the end of it all I came in 5th place and won $20.00! Pretty cool huh?

This was the final week- 2 pager, at least 3 pics showing a process, and use graduation of color:

Week 9 - Had to use lots of rub ons: Everything here is a rub on except the blue & white ribbon, and wouldn't ya know I didn't get it uploaded in time! I was so bummed!

Just another week in the challenge. We were required to use denim and something to do with a genie. I stole these belt loops off what I thought was an old pair of jeans, but come to find out my daughter still wears them...ooops! I still think they look better on my layout! LOL :)

I love challenges! They push me out of my comfort zone to try new ideas. This layout is for a color challenge, the colors were red-teal-white-black. I normally wouldn't have used these colors together, but they look Awesome!

Here are a few more layouts from the 10 week challenge I'm in. The first one had to be about your favorite childhood storybook so for me it had to be Sleeping Beauty. I went online looking for inspiration and found this amazing picture of her, It's gorgeous! This has been such a great challenge, and it keeps me on my toes to find new ideas. I am luvin it!!

I am in a 10 week challenge called Scraptathlon and each week there is a new theme. This time (week 3) it was Rhinestone Cowboy, and it had to have a western theme-rhinestones-and a masculine subject. So my hubby had taken this awesome photo a couple of weeks before and it was perfect! Anyway, I won this week and I am thrilled! Week 4 is spiral journaling, that's going to be interesting! lol!

Just when you think Prima can't get any better, they do! I love their crystals and now they have pearls! They are Gorgeous!!

I have had this beautiful photo of my Brittiny since October. You know, saving it for just the right layout, and when I saw these pearls I had to have them. I just love how they look on this layout!

It's hard to believe it's 2009 already! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and wish you all the best in the year to come!!

I just love Christmas, it's a beautiful way to end the year, and helps us remember what we need to be doing and why. We had a great time and even got to spend time with loved ones that live far away.

At the end of last year a magazine editor discovered my Etsy shop and asked to do an article on my books. She sent me an interview to send with my photos, and then sent me a copy of the issue when it came out. I was so excited! My first time published, their magazine is really beautiful and I was honored to be chosen!

I've added some photos here to share with friends, family, and anyone else that would like to see. The large photo on the right is a book made by my daughter Kayloni, that was pretty exciting for them to include her book too!!

Gosh, it seems like forever since I have posted! The last couple of months have been busy with craft fairs, and they have been alot of fun. Sold alot of journals and albums, but now I am really looking forward to doing some scrapping, the pics keep piling up! :)

Here a a few projects I've been working on lately, the word books are awesome! I love them!

Still loving Etsy, and meeting alot of great people there, I truly believe it will lead to wonderful things, I have a few plans in the works, and hopefully by next month I will get to share them with you.
